Getting To Howard Place once in St Andrews
  • As you enter St Andrews on the A91, go straight across the first roundabout (with the new Gateway centre on your right).
  • At the second roundabout turn right (sign for A915 to Kirkaldy and Leven),
  • at the next mini-roundabout turn left, on the corner here is HOPE PARK church.
  • Turn immediately left again into Hope Street and 3a Howard Place on the left hand side.
Street parking here is free and generally there is plenty of space.
The Georgian street of Howard Place stretches from St Mary's Place/Hope street to Abbotsford Crescent/City road - 3a is at the St Mary's Place end.		Click for map of St Andrews

Getting to St Andrews
St Andrews is on the North East corner of Fife in Scotland.

By car From Edinburgh: St Andrews is 50 miles north of Edinburgh via the Forth Bridge (toll bridge) to Junction 2A on M90, then A92 through Glenrothes and Cupar and A91. Journey time is approximately one hour.

By car From Dundee: St Andrews is just 15 miles south of Dundee via the Tay Bridge, A92, A919 and A91.

By car From Glasgow: Take the M8 towards Edinburgh, and turn onto the A80 seven miles outside Glasgow. Continue on the M80 over the Kincardine Bridge which leads to the M90 (junction 6). Head north on the M90 until junction 7. Take the A91 and follow signs to St Andrews. Journey time is approximately one and a half hours.

Airports at Glasgow and Edinburgh offer plenty of connections both nationally and internationally. Car Hire is available from the major firms at both airports and in the city centres. Additionally SCOTAIR (0870 6060707) fly between London City Airport and Dundee.

By train St Andrews does not have its own train station. The nearby Leuchars railway station is on the east coast mainline with inter-city connections throughout Britain and a night sleeper service to London. The station is 4 miles from St Andrews from which there is an excellent taxi service and a frequent local bus service. The journey time to and from the railway station is approximately 10 minutes.
